Mary E. Porter Freeman is a Laboratory Manager at the Laboratory of Archaeology and Georgia Archaeological Site File (GASF) at the University of Georgia and has been with the Lab and GASF since 2014. In her capacity as Laboratory Manager, she leads all GASF-related projects, including service requests for CRM firms, GNAHRGIS database management, and data curation for sites and surveys throughout the state. She also currently serves on the Society for Georgia Archaeology's Board of Directors. With research interests centered on the Georgia Coast and landscape archaeology from precolonial times through the Mission period, her work has primarily contributed to ongoing investigations among the Georgia Barrier Islands, including St. Catherines, Creighton, Sapelo, and Ossabaw Islands
