On March 11, 1996 two archeologists conducted a survey of a three acre tract on the L.C. Pope property, about ten miles southeast of Dublin, Georgia (Figure 1). This will be the site of a borrow pit for road fill. No archeological sites were found.

This report summarizes the results of the archeological and historical study of a portion of a Civil War battlefield and trench system located in western Cobb County, Georgia, about 7 mi west of Marietta. The battle occurred on June 15-17, 1864, along a line nearly 8 mi (10.2 km) long.
