751 Gresham, Thomas H. Cultural Resource Survey of Portions of Compartments 166 and 167 Oglethorpe and Green Counties

A cultural resources reconnaissance- level survey of 1004 ha (2480 ac) in the Oconee National Forest, Greene and Oglethorpe Counties, Georgia, was conducted for the National Forest Service. Sixty-eight sites and 20 artifact occurrences were recorded.

The state archeological site file shows a large, poorly defined archeological site (9Ws18) encompassing the proposed Washington City #2 substation tract. The site was reported by an artifact collector (E.B. Mell) in the 1950's and precise site location and boundaries are unknown.
