Georgia Department of Transportation Project #M-70S0 (1), Richmond County is the extension of Murray Road from a point just east of the Richmond-Columbia County line to a point near the intersection of Broad and 1Sth streets (Figure 1).

On August 27, 28, and 29, 1986 the Georgia Department of Transportation conducted archaeological test excavations at site 9HL20 in Hall County, Georgia.

An intensive archaeological survey of the proposed drainage improvements to Rae's Creek failed to identify any archaeological resources within the area of potential environmental effects (construction limits and easements).

A large construction project, such as the building of a mass rapid transit system, is highly destructive to the cultural remains that may lie in its path.

This is the widening of S.R. 4 from just south of the U.S. 1/U.S. 341 intersection (Park Avenue) in Baxley to just north of Sambo Street, a distance of 1.14 miles. A 100 foot corridor center about the existing centerline was surveyed for the project length.

This project would construct a 4-lane divided roadway on a minimum of 300 feet right-of-way from the present S.R. 316 terminus northeast of Lawrenceville to U.S. 78/S.R. 10 south of Bogart, a length of approximately 25 miles. A survey consistent with the project corridor was conducted.

This reevaluation is the relocation of U.S. 411/S.R. 61 at S.R. 140 at Rydal. The project is approximately 0.7 mile long and a corridor 50 feet either side of the proposed centerline was surveyed.

This is a bridge replacement on new location on C.R. 316 over Oothcalooga Creek. The project is approximately 1,200 feet long with a required right-of-way of 100 feet. An archaeological survey consistent with the project limits was performed.

This is the within-median addition of a northbound and southbound travel lane on 1-75 from U.S. 411 to the Tennessee State line. A corridor from U.S. 411 to the Tennessee State line and within the existing right-of-way was surveyed.
