Abstract

The project proposes to replace the existing intersection with a roundabout, located slightly

northeast of the current alignment. However, to correct sight distance issues, the center of the roundabout would shift approximately 12 feet further to the southwest than the previously approved alignment. Project limits have also changed from the previously approved project. Along SR 52, north of the roundabout, the project would end 200 feet shorter than the previous alignment, approximately 860 feet from the center point of the roundabout. Along SR 9 west of the intersection the project limits would not change, and would end approximately 955 feet west of the roundabout center point. East of the roundabout on SR 9 the project limits are 17 feet shorter than the previous alignment, and would end approximately 800 feet cast of the roundabout center point. The total project length is now approximately .50 miles.

As a result of the roundabout shift, drainage improvements, design modifications and infiltration devices required for protected aquatic species the amount of ROW and easement has changed. Required ROW has been reduced from 3.15 acres to 1.95 acres, and temporary easement has increased from .15 acres to .25 acres.

However, the increase in length along SR 52 northwards toward the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church resulted in the church's associated cemetery falling partially within the March 2018 ESC. Therefore, in an abundance of caution, designers reduced the footprint of the April 2018 APE to fall completely within the original 2014 survey limits, thus avoiding the cemetery.
