Abstract

The proposed project would consist of the replacement of a bridge on Roberts Quarters Road (CR 160) over Elkins Creek approximately 3. 21 kilometers (2. 0 miles) southeast of Concord in Pike County. The project would begin approximately 0.4 kilometers (0.25 miles) south of Creek and would end approximately 0.4 kilometers (0.25 miles) north of Creek for a total project length of approximately 0.8 kilometers (0.5 miles).ยท The existing typical section is approximately a 6.1 meter (20 foot) two lane rural section with approximately 1.8 meter (6.0 foot) grassed shoulders. The proposed typical section would be two 3.3 meter (22 foot) paved travel lanes with 1.8 meter (6.0 foot) grassed shoulders. The existing structure is a 43.9 X 7.3 meter (144' X 24') bridge that is too narrow and structurally deficient. The bridge would be replaced with an estimated 54.9 X 9.1 meter (180' X 30') bridge. Existing ROW is approximately 18. 3 meters (60'); an additional 12 meters (40') would be required for a total of 30.4 meters (100') of ROW.
