Abstract

"In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project HPP-056-1(65), Fulton County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect.

The proposed project would construct four noise barriers on the east side of GA 400 and one on the west side of GA 400 in Fulton County. On the east side of GA 400 Wall 1 begins north of Woodland Elementary School and ends just south of Pitts Road and is approximately 2252 feet long. Wall 2 begins just north of Pitts Road and ends just north of Spindle Court and is approximately 1915 feet long. Wall 3 begins near the Roberts Drive overpass and extends 1292 feet north. Wall4 begins south of Roberts Drive underpass and extends north 1082 feet. Wall 5, on the west side of GA 400, begins south of the Chatahoochee River and extends south for 1940 feet. All work would be done within the existing right-of-way.
