Abstract

In order to comply with federal regulations regarding cultural resources, Oglethorpe Power Company sponsored an intensive cultural resources survey of a 2.02 ha (5 ac) proposed substation tract on Holly Springs Road in Hall County at the Jackson County line. Fieldwork was conducted in late August 1991 and involved the excavation of 38 shovel tests. No archeological sites were discovered; however one prehistoric artifact occurrence and a modern trash scatter were recorded. Neither is significant and no further archeological work is recommended.
