This project proposes to strengthen the intermediate bent caps on the bridge over the CSX Railroad, on SR 4, two miles north of the City of Folkston, Charlton County, Georgia. The bent caps are proposed to be strengthened using carbon fiber wrap, which is applied directly to the existing bent caps. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way, no new right-of-way is required. The project consists of the strengthening of the intermediate bent caps on the bridge over CSX Railroad, on SR 4 two miles north of Folkston, using carbon fiber wrap applied to the bent caps. This bridge has a sufficiency rating of 78.24.
