"In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project F-061-1(98), Oconee County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project area.
The proposed project consists of a revised design of the proposed interchange of SR 316 Extension and the South Athens Bypass. The new design would relocate Epps Bridge Road and Jennings Mill Road to form a
T type intersection with SR 316, and would relocate Daniels Bridge Road to tie into Epps Bridge Road. One entrance loop ramp would be added and one exit and one entrance ramp would be relocated.
