Abstract

A cultural resources survey has been completed for the Mack White Gap and Strawberry Mountain Timber Sales on the Conasauga Ranger District in Chattooga County, Georgia. The area of potential effect (APE) for the present project consists of those areas for which ground disturbing activities associated with the timber sales could potentially occur and in this case the timber sale units. The timber sales include 108 acres. A total of six new sites (5 prehistoric and 1 historic) were located, and two sites (9CG258 and 9CG259) were revisited (Table 1) in the Mack White Gap stand, and no sites were found in the Strawberry Mountain unit.
