Abstract

Archeological Assessment of a Lowndes County Resurfacing Project. This project proposes to improve SR 131 beginning at M.P. 8.70 and ending at M.P. 13.95. This project would resurface the entire roadway on divided and undivided sections. Rumble strips would be indented on 4' wide or greater paved shoulders. Earth shoulders are to be reconstructed from a maximum distance of 4' from the edge of new pavement, for the purpose of providing a smooth grade transition. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way, with no new right-of-way required. Total project length is approximately 5.25 miles.
