Abstract

Archaeological Assessment of Project (Not Assigned), Fulton/Dekalb Counties, removal, resetting and rehabilitation of granite curbing on both sides of the roadway along Ponce de Leon Ave., from S. Ponce de Leon Ave. to N. Ponce de Leon Ave. The proposed project begins at S. Ponce de Leon Avenue east of the Briarcliff Rd./Moreland Ave intersection and extends eastward along Ponce de Leon Avenue to North Ponce de Leon Ave., and consists of the removal and resetting of the granite curbing on both sides of the roadway, rehabilitation of existing drop inlets and catch basins to match the re-set granite curb top elevations. The construction will consist of removing a strip approximately 18 inches wide of existing pavement along the shoulder, removal and resetting the existing granite curb, or replacement of damaged curb with Type "B" granite curb with eased edge toward the road face. It is also proposed to remove approximately 21 to 24 trees along Ponce de Leon.
