Abstract

The purpose of this project is to replace a structurally deficient bridge carrying County Road (CR) 322/0id 337 Hwy over Chelsea Creek in Chattooga County, Georgia (Figure 1). The existing Right-of-Way (ROW) is 25 feet on either side of centerline. The proposed ROW is 160 feet to 190 feet. Easements for driveway construction are also proposed. An offsite detour will be utilized during construction. This project was originally surveyed in 2002 for archaeological resources by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) under P.I. 0000679. Changes to the project have occurred since the original archaeological assessment. One reevaluation survey was conducted in 2005 to account for required ROW additions. Since that time, the project was reprogrammed under P.I. 0015269 and the project has added a driveway easement and refined the project limits.
