Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project STP-000 1-00(729), Douglas County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP)". The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect.

Project STP-0001-00(729) would rebuild 10 traffic signals along SR 6 in Douglas County. The proposed project begins at the US 78/278/SR 6 intersection and terminates at the South Blairs Bridge Road/SR 6 intersection. No additional right-of-way would be required. The total length of the project is approximately 3 miles. An archaeological survey consistent with the proposed project description was conducted along the entire length of the project corridor.
