Abstract

Pl751770: The construction consists of widening Battle Creek Road and Mt. Zion Boulevard from Southlake Parkway to Somerton Drive from the existing two and four lane facilities to four. 11 ' lanes with a 20' raised median and urban shoulders consisting of 2.5' curb and gutter, and 5' sidewalks. The project begins on Battle Creek Road and continues to the intersection of Battle Creek Road and Mt. Zion Boulevard (Figures 1 and 2). This intersection will be realigned to provide east-west through movement from eastbound Battle Creek Road to eastbound Mt. Zion Boulevard. The project continues east along MI. Zion Boulevard, crosses 1-75 and ends at Somerton Drive. Green Meadows Lane traffic will be temporarily detoured along Vesta Brook Lane, and Green Meadows Lane will be the temporarily detoured for Vesta Brook Lane traffic during construction of the Vesta Brook Lane/Mt. Zion Boulevard intersection. Recent design changes have altered the amount of required right-of-way, which now ranges from 81 to 192 feet.

PI 751775: The construction consists of widening Battle Creek Road from Valley Hill Road to Southlake Parkway from the existing two lane and four lane facility to four. 11' lanes with a 20' raised median and urban shoulders consisting of 2.5' curb and gutter, and 5' sidewalks. The intersection of Battle Creek Road and Valley Hill Road will be realigned to provide an east-west through movement from eastbound Valley Hill Road to eastbound. Battle Creek Road (Figures 1 and 2). In the vicinity of Battle Creek Road and Wilson Road (from Valley Hill Road to Tara Boulevard) traffic would be temporarily rerouted along Tara Boulevard and Valley Hill Road. To avoid construction at the Tara Road intersection with Battle Creek Road, traffic will be temporarily detoured along O'Hara Drive and SR 54. Traffic will be temporarily detoured along SR 54 and SR 138 for construction at the Central of Georgia Railroad (east of SR 54). Recent design changes have altered the amount of required right-of-way, which ranges from 86 to 246 feet.
