Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project BRZLB-195(6), Madison Co., has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor.

This project consists of a bridge replacement and road/approachment improvements to County Road 229 at Bigger Creek. The project is approximately 1,050 feet long extending southward from County Road 228 on a proposed 80 foot R/W. Most of the existing 30 feet of R/W will be encompassed in this. No detour bridge will be required since the existing road will be closed during construction.
