Abstract

Archeological Assessment of the Madison County Resurfacing Project. This proposed project is 1.2 miles in length and consists of leveling, resurfacing, and patching of SR 22 beginning at the Oglethorpe County Line (MP 0.0) and ending at SR 72 (MP 1.2). No additional right-of-way is required.

Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
