Abstract

The proposed project would replace the functionally narrow, structurally deficient bridge on CR 184/Cooper Bridge Road over Walnut Creek, approximately 4.8 kilometers (3.0 miles) north of Braselton, Georgia. The existing 4.3 X 12.2 meter (14' X 40') structure would be realigned approximately 15.2 meters (50') west (upstream) of the existing alignment (centerline to centerline) to correct the poor horizontal alignment. The replacement structure would be approximately 7.3 X 30.5 meters (24' X 100'). The proposed project would begin approximately 228.6 meters (750') south of Walnut Creek and would end approximately 228.6 meters (750') north of Walnut Creek for a total project length of approximately 0.45 kilometers (0.28 miles). Existing ROW is probably pavement width or approximately (60') as are most county roads. Maximum required ROW would be (250'), symmetrically from proposed centerline. Should you have a potential site in the area, we may have to wait for plans. The road would be closed during construction; off-site detours would be utilized.
