Abstract

The proposed project would include resurfacing, leveling, milling, and shoulder building on SR 16 in Hancock County. The proposed project would begin on SR 16 at the Hancock/Putnam County line tilen continue easterly to an end point at SR 15 (generally from MP 0.00 to MP 11.3). All project construction will be restricted to within the existing right-of-way. Pursuant to the February 2000 memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
