Abstract

Archeological Assessment of the Gwinnett. Barrow, Jackson Counties Resurfacing Project. This proposed project is 17.502 miles long and consists of patching, leveling, resurfacing, and shoulder building on SR 124 beginning 200' north of SR 20 (MP 16.95) and ending at SR 53 (MP 1.807). Milling and inlay will be required when C&G on both sides of roadway and for tie-ins. No additional right-of-way is required. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
