This is a bridge replacement project, F-093-1(9) CT 3/ BRSLB-2729(1), located in Colquitt County. Construction will consist of a grade adjustment to Old Detour Road to connect the road to the Moultrie By-Pass and to replace the existing 105'x 24' wooden bridge over Okapilco Creek with a 160' x 40' concrete bridge. Approximately 800 cubic yards of embankment material will be placed below the 100 year flood elevation covering 0.4 acre. The material will be obtained from sources within the vicinity of the project. Erosion control will be grassing on shoulders and slopes and stone rip rap on bridge end rolls. An existing 48'x 24' wooden bridge over an overflow channel at Station 24+00 will also be removed but not replaced. The overflow channel will be diverted to the Creek parallel to Old Detour Road by a 10' berm ditch. The opening under the new bridge has sufficient area to convey the design storm with no significant impact on the floodplain.
