The proposed project will extend 15th Street from West Peachtree to Williams Street. The 15th Street extension will be constructed in two phases or segments. The first segment involves construction of five-foot bike lanes on both sides of the roadway on 15th Street from West Peachtree Street to Spring Street. The road configuration will consist of three lanes, two 11-foot outer lanes moving in both directions, with 12-foot partially dedicated center left turn lanes. The second phase will extend 15th Street on new roadway from Spring Street to Williams Street with two-lane traffic moving in both directions. Each travel lane will be 11 feet wide. This new roadway will also have five-foot bike lanes on both sides of the road. Landscaping will be installed along both sides of the project corridor. Both segments will be built within existing right-of-way (ROW).
