Cultural resources surveys have been completed on the Chestatee Ranger District, Chattahoochee National Forest prior to Forest Service activities. These surveys are located in portions of Compartments 546, 548, 551, 553, 560, 561, 563, 569, 570, 584 and 587 in Lumpkin and White Counties, Georgia. A total area of 747 acres were surveyed and a five sites were recorded. These sites range from the Archaic period to the historic period. Two prehistoric sites are considered to be significant. Site types and recommendations are shown below.
