The project was surveyed by simple visual inspection. The project area is urban with both commercial and residential property along its length. The proposed widening will require 19 feet (5.8 meters) of additional right-of-way. At present, this additional 19 feet consists of the road shoulders, drainage ditches, culverts, utility lines and buried cables, etc. Much of the 19 feet is paved. If construction is limited to 19 feet on either side of State Route 50, no undisturbed ground will be affected, and in the opinion of the Staff Archaeologist, no cultural resources will be affected.
