Abstract

Greenhouse CONSULTANTS incorporated completed a Phase I cultural resource survey of the 12.03 acre JB White Tract in Butts County, Georgia. The purpose of this investigation was to identify cultural resources within the project area and to evaluate those resources against the criteria for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Fieldwork for this investigation was completed during March 2018. No previously documented archaeological sites, National Register listed properties, nor historic structures were recorded within or near the property Area of Potential Effect (APE). There were no structures within the project area or viewshed. Two archaeological sites were found as a result of this fieldwork, Site 9BS113 and 9BS114. Neither of these sites meet National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eligibility requirements since both are disturbed, lack integrity, and have no significant research potential. As a result of this investigation we recommend no further fieldwork in advance of the proposed project development.
