Abstract

Archeological Assessment of a Wayne County Bridge Project. This project proposes to clean and repaint the steel superstructures of five bridges within the City Limits of Jesup, Wayne County, Georgia. The bridge locations are noted below. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way, no new right-of-way is required. The project consists of cleaning and repainting the steel superstructure of existing bridge

structures of five bridges in Wayne County. Four of the bridges are over railroad tracts

and the fifth bridge is over a roadway in the city of Jesup.

1. SR 23/US 25 bridge, northbound lanes, over the Norfolk Southern Railroad

2. SR 23/US 25 bridge, southbound lanes, over the Norfolk Southern Railroad

3. SR 23/US 25 bridge, northbound lanes, over the CSX Railroad

4. SR 23/US 25 bridge, southbound lanes, over CSX Southern Railroad

5. SR 38/US 84 bridge, eastbound lanes, over SR 23/US 25 southbound lanes
