Abstract

This is a brief archeological assessment of the above referenced projects. As described by GDOT concept reports, the projects are minor, and consist of adding new traffic signals, pedestrian signals and adding crosswalks and raised pedestrian islands to both intersections. No new right-of-way will be required. The projects were archeologically surveyed on December 19, 2001. Both intersections are located in Garden City, a short distance northwest of Savannah (see attached map). SR 21 (Augusta Road) consists of six, 12 ft travel lanes, with left turn lanes at the intersections separated by a depressed median.
