The proposed project is to be the widening of the existing two-lane bridge over the Central of Georgia Railroad in Whitesburg on S.R. 16 (U.S. 27 Alt.). The existing bridge is 105' long and 32' wide with a roadway width of 24'. The bridge has concrete substructure with concrete T-beams and concrete deck. The existing bridge is inadequate for present day traffic due to being under designed. The existing structure will be widened to a width of 44' and remain two lanes.
