The proposed project consists of the transfer of surplus property in Fulton County owned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The surplus property will be placed on the market by GDOT’s Right-of-Way Office. The parcel is identified as PM 3401 = GEP-121-1046, and is located at the northwestern corner of the intersection of Northside Parkway/US Highway (US) 41/ State Route (SR) 3) and Mount Paran Road—immediately west of SR 401/Interstate 75 (I-75) within the city limits of Atlanta, Georgia (see Figures 1 and 2). It is approximately 13.10 acres (5.30 ha) and was acquired in 1998 for GDOT project IM-75-3(202). In compliance with the Georgia Environmental Policy Act (GEPA), the Department has determined that the transfer of property has the potential to cause effects to historic properties, should any such properties exist in the survey area.
