Abstract

The proposed project, located in Midtown Atlanta, would involve “complete street” improvements across the 10th street (St) bridge and on the Techwood Drive (Dr) and Williams St connections with the bridge. Bicycle and pedestrian improvements would connect with planned facilities on the east and west side of the bridge. The existing bridge would be modified to provide enhanced sidewalks with barrier separation from vehicular lanes, new lighting, and architectural safety fence on both sides of the bridge. A two-way protected bike facility will be installed on the south side of the bridge between the sidewalk and barrier. A two-way protected cycle track will also be installed on

Williams St between 8th St and 12th St and on Techwood Dr from 10th St to the Turner building entrance. The project includes improving pedestrian safety and accessibility at all intersections through new curb ramps, tightened curb radii, and upgraded crosswalks. Landscape and aesthetic enhancements will be implemented along existing retaining walls and landscaped areas adjacent to the Interstate.
