Abstract

24 hours prior to clearing and grubbing of the project corridor at Panther Creek. A 48-hour period will be required after clearing but prior to grubbing, in the area of the Tallulah Railroad trestle, to allow a Departmental archaeologist to photograph and prepare a plan map of the extant Tallulah Railroad trestle within the Panther Creek Recreational Area. The contractor shall provide a bulldozer and operator, or similar Equivalent, to assist the Departmental archaeologist in the recovery of a historic mill stone Panther Creek within the Panther Creek Recreational Area (see attached map for approximate location). The milling stone will be made available to the U.S. Forest Service archaeologist who will be onsite during the recovery operation. The Departmental Archaeologist will be responsible for coordinating with the U.S. Forest Archaeologist. This will roost probably occur during the 48-hour period described above.
