Abstract

The Phase I cultural resources survey (including both a historic resources survey and an archeological inventory) of the proposed Southern Natural Gas Company, L.L.C. (SNG) Fairburn Expansion Project in Fayette, Fulton, Clayton, Cobb, and Monroe counties, Georgia was completed in October and December, 2016 and July, 2017. The proposed SNG Fairburn Expansion Project will consist of: construction of two new pipeline segments, a new compressor station, and three new meter stations; acquisition of an existing pipeline lateral; and modifications to two existing meter stations. Specifically, proposed SNG Fairburn Expansion Project components include: construction of approximately 7.9 km (4.9 mi) of new pipeline in Fayette and Fulton counties, Georgia (Fairburn Lateral); construction of approximately 2.6 km (1.6 mi) of new pipeline in Monroe County, Georgia (South Main 2nd Loop Line Extension); acquisition of an approximately 31.7 km (19.7 mi) existing pipeline lateral in Fulton and Cobb counties, Georgia that

will not include any construction or modifications to existing pipeline facilities (McDonough Lateral); construction of a new electric drive compressor station in Fulton County, Georgia (Fairburn Compressor Station); construction of a new meter station in Fayette County, Georgia (Transco to SNG Meter Station); construction of a new meter station in Cobb County, Georgia (Plant McDonough Meter Station); construction of a new meter station in Fulton County (UPS Meter Station); modifications at an existing SNG meter station in Fulton County, Georgia (SNG to McDonough Meter Station); and modifications at the existing SNG meter station in Clayton County, Georgia (Jonesboro Meter Station).
