Abstract

A surface collection was made on the proposed site of the Monticello Airport on February 23, 1973. Two sherds, a broken projectile point, and a few flakes were found on the air s trip itself. Dirt on the surface of the airstrip was brought in from barrow pits a few hundred yards away, so possibly the artifacts came from there, but no cultural material was found in the vicinity of the pits.
