Abstract

To determine the current state of knowledge for the area, the project director will consult the state site files, will undertake an extensive review of the archaeological literature, and will interview local residents knowledgeable about the prehistory of the region. Also, an individual with strong background in historical research will be employed to examine and evaluate historical resources, including those in the files of the Chattahoochee National Forest office in Gainesville, with the goal of locating historic sites in the survey area.
