Abstract

Tower Engineering Professionals, Inc. (TEP) is assisting in the expansion of an existing telecommunications facility in Tyrone, Fayette County, Georgia. American Towers LLC is proposing to increase the ground space of an existing 54.4-ft x 38-ft x 45.2-ft x 32.9-ft irregularly shaped fenced telecommunications tower facility by 12-ft x 26-ft and 8-ft x 7.58-ft. The aforementioned existing tower compound is associated with an existing 497-ft AGL (500-ft AGL with appurtenances) guyed communications tower located at 1814 North Highway 74, Tyrone, GA. An additional 30-ft buffer surrounding the current and proposed fence push-out/lease area is also included as part of this assessment.

TEP conducted an assessment of the project’s direct effects, archaeological investigation, to meet the requirements of Section 106 of the National Preservation Act (NHPA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Nationwide Programmatic Agreement of 5 October 2004. This letter report summarizes the results of TEP’s investigations.
