Abstract

Tower Engineering Professionals, Inc. (TEP) is assisting CitySwitch, LLC with the construction of a proposed 150-ft AGL ( 160-ft AGL overall with appurtenances) monopole communications tower. The proposed tower will be located north of a ponion of Bill Gardner Parkway, west of Lester Mill Road. west­nonhwest of the City of Locust Grove, in Henry County, Georgia. This project is located on Henry County Parcel# 097-01019028. Installation of the communications tower and associated equipment is regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).   

TEP conducted a cultural resources assessment of the project's direct and visual effects to meet the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Nationwide Programmatic Agreement (NPA) of October 4, 2004. This letter report summarizes the results of TEP's cultural resource assessment. 

The assessment resulted in the identification of two (2) historic properties, three (3) ineligible prehistoric and historic archaeological sites, and one (I) archaeological survey within the visual Area of Potential Effect (APE). No (0) historic properties were identified within the direct APE. An archaeological investigation was conducted on September 25, 2019. No (0) cultural resources were discovered within the Direct Area of Potential Effect (APE). No avoidance or further work is recommended for the proposed project.
