Abstract

On August 24, 2015 archeologist Tom Gresham conducted the requested Phase I survey of the project. Gresham was led to the project area by NRCS agent Forrest Hill, at which time it was realized that the CR review maps had the location mis-plotted by about 1,400 feet (see attached). The metal-framed, plastic-covered high tunnel had been constructed. The ground surface inside and within 15 ft of the structure was about 75% exposed. This ground exposure was visually inspected for artifacts, and none were observed. Because of the excellent ground surface exposure, no shovel testing was required. The ridge top project area is about 0.1 acreThere is very low potential for NRCS assisted activities to impact cultural resources at this location. Continue with planned assistance. No further archeological work is needed.
