Abstract

In accordance with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Low Impact Bridge Program (LIBP), a potential bridge replacement has been identified along Wardlow Road, located in Turner County, Georgia (Figure l). The existing bridge (Bridge ID# 287-5033-0) along Wardlow Road spans a segment of West Fork Deep Creek. The existing bridge measures approximately 194 feet (ft) (59 meters [m]) long by 30 ft (9 m) wide. The existing right-of-way (ROW) on Wardlow Road is between approximately 49 and 30 ft (14 and 9 m) wide from the pavement's edge. As a candidate under the LIBP, the bridge will require minimal permits, no new ROW, minor utility impacts, no Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) coordination, no on-site detour, minimal easements, and is expected to be replaced on the current alignment.
