Abstract

The proposed project would replace the County Road (CR) 360/ Old United States Highway (US) 84 bridge over Chessie Seaboard Railroad (CSX) #636964L railroad in Thomas County, Georgia. The existing bridge over the CSX railroad is approximately 37.7 meters (m) (124 feet [ft]) long and has two 3 m (10 ft) travel lanes, one in each direction. The existing deck width is approximately 6.5 m (21.5 ft). Existing right-of-way (ROW) on the CR 360/Old US 84 road corridor is approximately 18.2 m (60 ft).

The proposed bridge would be approximately 39.6 m (130 ft) long with two 3.6 m (12 ft) travel lanes, one in each direction. The proposed bridge deck width would be approximately 10 m (33 ft). The proposed bridge would be constructed on existing alignment with traffic routed to an off-site detour during construction. The proposed ROW width would vary between approximately 24.3 m and 36.5 m (80 ft and 120 ft). The total project length would be approximately 0.6 kilometer (km) (0.4 mile [mi]).
