Abstract

The Banks Lake Preservation Site is a wetland mitigation site owned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and located along the south side of State Route (SR) 122/Macon Road approximately 4.8 kilometers (km) (3 miles [mi]) west of the city of Lakeland, Georgia, in Lanier County (Figure 1). The site was acquired with federal funds in 2000. The proposed project would consist of wetland mitigation and restoration activities on the site.
