Abstract

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) PI. 0016598 project proposes to replace the existing 38- foot (ft.)-long bridge along County Road (CR) 375/Vaughn Road over Mill Creek (Structure ID No. 057-5036-0), southeast of Holly Springs, in Cherokee County, Georgia. The proposed 65-ft.-long bridge will consist of two 11-ft. lanes with 3-ft. outside shoulders and concrete barriers on each side. The single-span bridge is estimated to be raised approximately 2.5 ft. above the existing roadway surface, with a total deck width of 31.25 ft. The existing Right-of-Way (ROW) is 40 ft. wide. Current proposed ROW ranges from 130 ft. wide at the southern end of the survey area to 72 ft. wide at the northern end. The proposed bridge replacement will occur on the existing bridge alignment, and an off-site detour will be utilized.
