Abstract

This assessment was conducted by Brockington and Associates, Inc. (Brockington) personnel who meet the Secretary of lnterior's Professional Qualification Standards as per 36 CFR 61 for their position. Rachel Perash, Archaeologist, is a member of the Register of Professional Archaeologists (RP A) and oversaw all work conducted for this assessment. Assessments of archaeological site potential and eligibility for the proposed project tract were made based upon archival research and desktop review of site conditions. All known archaeological resources within one kilometer (km) of the project tract were identified and documented to the extent that they may have bearing on potential resources within the subject area. Architectural resources within a quarter mile of the project tract were also identified and documented to provide a recommendation to their eligibility for listing on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Archival research was conducted via Georgia's Natural, Archaeological, and Historic Resources GIS (GNAHRGlS), an online interactive website maintained by the Georgia Archaeological Site File (GASF) and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources' Historic Preservation Division (HPD) of Georgia's State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). We also examined historic aerials and topographic maps to determine changing land use over time.
