Abstract

Introduction

A geophysical investigation was conducted along the south end of a picnic pavilion located at the entrance to the US Coast Guard Station on Tybee Island, Georgia. Specifically, the survey area was located on Cockspur Island on National Park Service property. The investigation was conducted on April 12, 2021. Objects or artifacts of cultural significance may be buried within the site.

The primary purpose of the geophysical investigation was to help characterize or identify the presence of potential objects or utilities within the near-surface soils and identify a safe area to conduct a geotechnical boring. The location of the geophysical survey area is provided on Figure 1. A discussion of the field methods used to generate the report figure is provided in Appendix A2.1.
