Abstract

In response to a request from Martin Environmental Services, RESCOM Environmental Corp (RESCOM) has completed a Phase Ia archaeological reconnaissance and records check for a proposed 160-ft monopole style tower site in Fulton County, Georgia (Figure 1). The project is located directly east of Old National Hwy in South Fulton at 33°35'14.4"N 84°28'04.9"W as seen on the Riverdale, GA 7.5' USGS topographical quadrangle (Figure 2). The project area consists of a sparsely wooded location and measures 50-ft by 40-ft with a 291-ft by 20-ft access easement that overlaps a paved driveway; 0.18-acre in total (Figure 3).

An archaeological records check conducted on behalf of RESCOM by the UGA Laboratory of Archaeology via the Georgia Archaeological Site File (GASF) shows no archaeological sites overlapping the project area. Fieldwork was conducted on April 4, 2022 by archaeologist Stephen Nazian, University of South Florida 2008, under the supervision of Andrew Smith M.A., Ball State University 2010, Principal Investigator and Secretary of Interior qualified professional archaeologist.

This report details the results of the records check and Phase Ia field reconnaissance and presents the conclusions and recommendations of RESCOM concerning any additional archaeological investigations.
