Abstract

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of proposed improvements to the SR 92 and Jimmy Mayfield Intersection in Fayette County on December 4, 1996. A pedestrian survey, combining surface inspection with 30 meter interval shovel testing was conducted. One archaeological site was identified, site 9Fyl28. The site does not appear eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places and no further archaeological study of the site or the study area is recommended.
