Abstract

New South Associates conducted a Phase I Archaeological Survey of the proposed Roxboro Road widening in DeKalb County, Georgia on May 21, 1997. The project had a right-of-way of 250 feet along approximately 3,000 of Roxboro Road beginning at its intersection with North Druid Hills and ending at the Fulton County line. No archaeological sites were discovered during the course of the survey and the heavy landscaping and eroded nature of the soils in the study corridor suggest that no undiscovered sites are likely. No further archaeological study of the Roxboro Road widening corridor is recommended.
