Abstract

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed realignment and widening of Hazelbrand Road and the improvements to SR 142 on January 22, 1997. The Hazelbrand Road project corridor is approximately 5,000 feet long with a 100 foot right-of-way. The portion of SR 142 studied is approximately 1,100 feet in length. All work for SR 142 will lie within the existing right-of-way. A pedestrian survey designed to identify archaeological sites was conducted on both study areas. No previously recorded archaeological sites lie within the study corridors and no sites were discovered by the survey. No further archaeological study is recommended.
