This report presents the results of an archeological survey that was conducted at an existing small bridge on Holloman Road at an unnamed tributary of Sweetwater Creek in southern Cobb County (Figure 1). The project consists of replacing a small bridge with a concrete box culvert. The area of potential effect consists of the maximum area of construction easement, which extends no more than 10m from the edge of the existing paved road for a distance of no more than 60 m from the proposed box culvert. The survey was required in order for Cobb County to be in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (as amended), which requires consideration of project effects on significant cultural resources. The goal of the survey was to locate, describe and evaluate the significance of any archeological sites in the area of potential effect. The survey included a background and literature review, an on-site visit to determine if archeological resources were present, and preparation of this report. No archeological sites were found.
