The Gwinnett County Department of Public Utilities Planning and Engineering Division contracted with Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS) to survey a proposed sewer line right-of-way in Gwinnett County, Ga. in compliance with State and Federal laws governing the protection of cultural resources. This project is a reconnaissance level survey which involved limited field inspection and examination of documentary sources. Subsurface testing was limited to landforms that, upon visual inspection, were most likely to produce evidence of past occupations. These occupations may be prehistoric or historic in nature.
